“I am so glad that we chose the "Off the Beaten Path" canal cruise for our boat trip in Amsterdam. The boat itself is gorgeous and so comfortable. Our skipper Beer was so kind, knowledgeable, relaxed and thoughtful. He encouraged us to kick our shoes off and put our feet up, had drinks and umbrellas for shade on hand and generally made us feel right at home. The cruise itself was so wonderful. He took us first through areas which no other boat tour goes through and we got to see where and how the real locals live which was not only beautiful and fascinating but also so quiet and peaceful, it was like medicine to the soul. He also took us through the Jordaan area (stunning) and then past the Anne Frank Haus and a little of the more usual tour areas which was great to do too.
My daughter and I were also the only people who'd booked for that session so we had the boat to ourselves, what a treat! And with a full 90min trip it was unbelievably good value.
By far the best canal trip I've done here. So, do yourself a favour and book it!
I cannot recommend this trip highly enough.

When we arrived early for the trip I was a little unsure I was in the right place as Beer was yet to arrive and there was no sign or anything on the little jetty to indicate we were in the right place but if you're on a little jetty next to a little play park on Brouwersgracht with a chic restaurant on the corner by the bridge, hold your nerve, you are in the right place!”

We discussed what we were looking for for our time and he delivered! PLUS arranging an ideal pickup spot (rare to find!)
We’ve lived in Amsterdam for a while now, but he still had new and interesting little facts about and around the city AND took us through some hidden, quiet canals!!
His attention to detail was not missed!
I think this will be the only boat we use now and I can’t wait to recommend Beer and Boat Local to all our friends and visitors!

“We had a lovely 2 hour private cruise through the canals and we really enjoyed it! “As with all things, it's not what you do, but with whom you do it. This cozy boat tour through the canals of this beautiful city is an experience made that much greater by the captain.
We went as a group of 4 friends but by the end Beer, our captain, seemed to be one of us thanks to his attention to detail, knowledgeable conversation and very easygoing manner. The variety of drinks on offer didn't hurt either :)
So I would definitely recommend this as a memorable experience that I guarantee you will not want to end!”

“Beer our skipper was very knowledgable of Amsterdams local sites and had a wide array of drinks available for us. The boat we were on was electrical and perfect for our group of 6! Definitely recommend for a private local experience!”

“Me and my partner really enjoyed this personal boat tour. Beer (the guide) was really friendly and knowledgable, and the whole experience had a lovely relaxed feel. Our tour lasted over an hour and we got to see so much of Amsterdam that we had not seen before! Really recommend this boat tour, it was one of the highlights of our holiday! ”

“i had a great evening sailing around Amsterdam light festival together with my friend. The drinks and food arrange was super well selected, so 10 points there. The boat was well equipped with blankets and warmers, and even on the cold weather we could enjoy the trip. Beer is a great captain and amazing tour guide, even I ve lived in Netherlands and Amsterdam for some time he still surprised me with stories and facts that where totally new and captivating.
